Todd Gilliland

Todd Jeremy Gilliland was born on May 15, 2000 in the USA and grew up as the third generation of a racing family: His father David Gilliland was himself a NASCAR driver and is today team owner of Tricon Garage, his grandfather Butch Gilliland also active in motorsports. Gilliland made his first driving attempts at age three in a pink Barbie Corvette toy car modified by his parents with an additional battery, shortly after he progressed to Quarter Midget racing at a neighborhood dirt track. At five years old he started competing, but had to take a two-year break on his father’s decision. In 2012 he won several championships, including the North Carolina Quarter Midget Association and the USAC World Formula National Quarter Midget Championship, and ended his Quarter Midget career with a total of 34 wins before competing in the Limited Late Model starting in 2014 at venues including Ace Speedway and Southern National Motorsports Park, where he achieved his first successes in larger vehicles.

Gilliland made the jump to the ARCA Series in 2015, just two days after his 15th birthday: At his debut at Toledo Speedway for Venturini Motorsports he won immediately and thus became the youngest winner in ARCA history. In the same year he also triumphed in the K&N Pro Series West in Phoenix and was there as well the youngest track winner ever. In 2016 he ran the full season for Bill McAnally Racing in the No. 16 Toyota and secured the title in the K&N Pro Series West, which he successfully defended in 2017. In the K&N Pro Series East he missed the 2017 championship by only eight points against Harrison Burton, before impressing again in 2018 with wins at New Smyrna and Bristol, his twentieth K&N overall win. In parallel he debuted in the Truck Series starting in 2017, before his promotion to the NASCAR Cup Series followed in 2022.

Gilliland achieved the greatest successes of his career so far especially in the Truck Series. In 2019 he celebrated his first Truck Series win at Martinsville for Kyle Busch Motorsports, in 2021 his second success followed at the Circuit of the Americas, this time for Front Row Motorsports, combined with his career-best seventh place in the overall standings. In 2022 he achieved another win with David Gilliland Racing on the dirt oval at Knoxville. In total, in 94 Truck Series starts he has three wins, 53 top-10 finishes and two pole positions to his credit. Still in 2022 he moved permanently to the NASCAR Cup Series and piloted the No. 38 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Front Row Motorsports, establishing himself as a reliable driver in the highest NASCAR class.

In the 2026 season Todd Gilliland remains a full-time driver at Front Row Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series and continues to drive the Ford Mustang Dark Horse. After years of continuous development in the Cup Series, he aims to further increase his consistency and more frequently achieve top-10 results. With his family background in his father’s team and the experience gathered in the developmental series, he brings the necessary qualifications to further establish himself as a permanent part of Front Row’s lineup during the ongoing season.
