Ryō Hirakawa

Ryō Hirakawa was born in Japan, where, like many factory drivers to come, he completed his first laps in karting. From this early passion for motorsport, a serious sporting project quickly developed: As a teenager, Hirakawa already stood out for his feel for the limit and his consistency—qualities that would later make him a sought-after driver in multiple formats.

Hirakawa’s path to the top led through Japanese formula and junior series, where he gradually qualified for GT3 entries and eventually for formula programs. This broad training, which combined pure open-wheel experience with an instinct for long-distance GT vehicles, paved the way for his entry into the FIA WEC, where he established himself as a factory driver in the top class and proved his versatility.
