Mathieu Jaminet was born in France and discovered motorsport through karting at an early age. Like many French talents, he gained his first experience on regional and national karting tracks before moving to formula series and brand-specific cup racing, which represented the next logical step. Early on, it became clear that Jaminet had a special talent for precise vehicle setup and consistent lap times—qualities that would later make him particularly suited for GT3 racing.
Through junior series, Jaminet found his way into the Porsche brand cups, where he made a name for himself in various cup competitions and earned the trust of Porsche management. This performance record opened the door to GT3 programs at international level and eventually to his entry into the FIA WEC, where he competed as a factory driver for Porsche in the GT category and later in the manufacturer’s prototype program. The jump from cup series to the long-distance world championship marked the most significant turning point in his career so far.
Among the greatest achievements of his career is the overall victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona, which Jaminet celebrated alongside his teammates as part of the Porsche program. In recent years, he has repeatedly finished in the points and on the podium at other prestigious long-distance classics in North America and Europe. These results cemented his reputation as a reliable, fast, and technically skilled driver within the Porsche family and made him a mainstay in the factory lineup.
In the 2026 season, Mathieu Jaminet will once again compete for a Porsche factory team in the FIA WEC. Together with his teammates in the cockpit, he aims to build on the strong results of recent years and fight for podium finishes and class victories. Experience from numerous long-distance outings and the close relationship with the factory team are important factors in consistently running at the front of the field this season.
