Augusto Farfus was born on January 4, 1983, in Curitiba, Brazil. Like many Brazilian racing drivers, he began his motorsport career in karting, where he early developed technical feel and racing instinct. This background in South American junior motorsport formed the foundation for his later move to Europe, where the decisive steps of his career would follow.

Farfus’ rise through the junior series was steep and consistent.
