Mirko Bortolotti

Mirko Bortolotti, born on 10 January 1990 in Trento, grew up in Vienna and comes from a long-established ice cream parlour family with several shops in the Austrian capital. After years in karting, initially on an Austrian licence, he won the Italian Formula 3 championship in 2008 and the FIA Formula 2 championship in 2011. Despite three Formula 1 test outings for Toro Rosso, Williams and Ferrari, a race seat in the top flight never materialised; instead, Bortolotti won the Eurocup Mégane Trophy in 2013.

In 2014 he impressed Lamborghini in its Super Trofeo junior programme and became an official factory driver in 2015, closely tied ever since to the GRT Grasser Racing Team. In 2017 Bortolotti won the overall Blancpain GT Series title, today known as GT World Challenge Europe, followed by two GTD class wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2018 and 2019 and a win at the 12 Hours of Sebring.

After a brief stint with Audi in 2020, he returned to Lamborghini in 2021 and entered the DTM with GRT in 2022, finishing his first season fourth overall. After narrowly missing the title twice, Bortolotti crowned his DTM career in 2024 with SSR Performance: the first championship for Lamborghini in the series’ 40-year history.

In 2025 he was part of the winning GRT trio alongside Luca Engstler and Jordan Pepper that secured Lamborghini’s first overall victory at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and he also races as a factory driver in the Lamborghini SC63 in the FIA World Endurance Championship. For the 2026 season the reigning DTM champion returns to his long-time team GRT, forming the new driver line-up alongside Maximilian Paul in the Lamborghini Temerario GT3.
