Oracle Red Bull Racing

Red Bull Racing emerged at the end of 2004 from the British Jaguar Racing outfit, itself a descendant of Stewart Grand Prix. Drinks company owner Dietrich Mateschitz bought the struggling team and installed Christian Horner as team principal, a move many dismissed at the time as a marketing gimmick. In its very first season under the new name, the Milton Keynes squad scored more points than Jaguar had managed in the previous two years combined.

The decisive turning point came in 2006 with the signing of Adrian Newey, then the most successful Formula 1 designer of the previous decade. His chassis concepts laid the foundation for the dominance that followed. At the same time, Red Bull built a driver academy that would go on to launch the careers of Sebastian Vettel and, later, Max Verstappen, a talent pipeline that is now considered one of the most influential in the sport.

In 2010, Red Bull won its first Constructors title and, through Sebastian Vettel, its first Drivers title, sealed in a dramatic season finale in Abu Dhabi. That double success was repeated three more times in a row between 2010 and 2013, a period marked at times by tension between Vettel and teammate Mark Webber. After years in the midfield during the turbo-hybrid era and a switch from Renault to Honda power, Max Verstappen brought the team back to the top from 2021, crowned that year in a controversial showdown with Lewis Hamilton in Abu Dhabi.

Red Bull secured two more Constructors titles with Verstappen in 2022 and 2023, the latter one of the most dominant seasons in Formula 1 history with 21 wins from 22 races. Verstappen extended his run of Drivers titles to four in a row through 2024, giving the team eight Drivers championships in total between him and Vettel.

Since mid-2025, Laurent Mekies has led the team from Milton Keynes as team principal, after Christian Horner departed following two decades in charge. Red Bull enters the 2026 season with Max Verstappen and Formula 1 newcomer Isack Hadjar, another graduate of the team academy, aiming to build on the success of recent years.
