Meyer Shank Racing, MSR for short, traces its roots back to Michael Shank Racing and today ranks among the more traditional, if not the oldest, names in North American motorsport. Having grown out of a classic sports car program, the team, based in Pataskala, Ohio, has long been firmly established in both the IndyCar Series and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The double name with Curb-Agajanian is not merely a sponsor addition but the expression of a close structural partnership that gives the team its current form.
A chapter all its own is the connection to Curb-Agajanian itself. The name has stood for racing in the US for roughly four decades, from NASCAR to IndyCar and USAC all the way to the World of Outlaws, and is closely tied to Mike Curb, who in 1964 also founded Curb Records, a label with 435 number-one hits and more than 4,500 chart placements. The fact that this music industry history is linked to one of America’s most recognizable racing family names, Agajanian, makes Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian a team whose name alone already tells a piece of American motorsport cultural history.
The team’s most visible run of success so far is closely tied to Hélio Castroneves, who in his expanded role as a minority partner repeatedly took the start for Meyer Shank Racing, including at the Indy 500, where he was a fixture of the field driving the No. 06. The team also showed consistent strength in its IMSA program recently: in 2025, the Acura Meyer Shank Racing No. 60 reached the podium multiple times in the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech races, including a third place in Indianapolis, the fourth consecutive podium of that season.
In the current era, the IndyCar lineup is shaped by Felix Rosenqvist, Marcus Armstrong, and Hélio Castroneves, a mix of established talent, rising speed, and years of Indy 500 experience. For 2026, the new partnership with REMAX, announced in February 2026 in Pataskala, also brought additional commercial backing to the NTT IndyCar calendar. Continuity is already taking shape even beyond the 2026 season: Marcus Armstrong signed a long-term extension with Meyer Shank Racing in the summer of 2026 and is set to move to the No. 60 Honda from 2027, the seat previously held by reigning Indy 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist.
This puts Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian at an interesting point in its development: carried by a name partnership with deep roots in American racing, shaped by solid results in IndyCar and IMSA, and fielding a driver lineup that combines both short-term success and long-term planning, visible in the early contract extension with Armstrong. For the 2026 season and beyond, the team therefore remains one of the names worth watching in the tightly packed IndyCar field.
