Tristan Vautier was born on May 24, 1989 in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France and, like many of his countrymen, came to motorsport through karting. Already in childhood, he showed his talent in karts before taking the step into formula racing series, where he quickly made a name for himself.
The Frenchman progressed through the classic junior series and stood out there with consistent performances. Via Formula Renault and other formula categories, he proved himself ready for bigger challenges and subsequently moved to the United States, where he established himself both in open-wheel formula racing and later in GT3 vehicles. This journey across the Atlantic significantly shaped his career and opened the door to international endurance programs, which eventually led him to the FIA WEC.
Among the greatest successes of his career is winning the Indy Lights Championship in 2012, which established him internationally as a serious racing driver. In the following years, he consistently built his experience in sports car racing and accumulated valuable miles in various GT3 and prototype projects, qualifying him for factory drives in international endurance racing.
In the 2026 season, Tristan Vautier competes in the FIA WEC, where he brings his experience from years in endurance racing and works with his team toward further strong results. The goal is to build on his previous successes and continue to establish himself in the fiercely competitive world championship field, while simultaneously proving his versatility between formula and sports car racing.
