Thierry Vermeulen

Thierry Vermeulen was born on 29 July 2002 in Venlo, Netherlands, and now lives in Monaco. His father, Raymond Vermeulen, manages Max Verstappen, giving Thierry an early window into the motorsport business. His own racing career began in 2020 in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux, where he dominated the GT4 class and won the title with Team GP Elite, alongside a campaign in the GT4 European Series.

In 2021 he won the 24H GT Series powered by Hankook, and a year later he stepped up to GT3 with Car Collection Motorsport, driving an Audi R8 LMS Evo II in the ADAC GT Masters, including a podium alongside Mattia Drudi. His DTM debut followed in 2023 with Emil Frey Racing, and he has stayed loyal to the Swiss Ferrari squad ever since.

Away from the DTM, 2025 was an outstanding year: with Verstappen.com Racing’s Mercedes-AMG, Vermeulen claimed two titles in the GT World Challenge Europe, winning both the Sprint Cup and the Endurance Cup. He also gained further experience in the GT World Challenge Asia and prepared with extensive testing for his debut at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

2026 marks Vermeulen’s fourth DTM season, again in Emil Frey Racing’s Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, now alongside new teammate Matteo Cairoli. After finishing tenth in last year’s standings and collecting four podiums without a win, his goal for the new season is clear: a first DTM victory.
