Rui Andrade was born in Portugal and grew up in a family with strong ties to motorsport. From early childhood, he discovered his passion for high-speed driving and quickly found his way into karting. There he gained important experience over several years, refined his feel for vehicle balance and racing tactics, and laid the foundation for his later career in international motorsport.
After karting, Andrade moved to formula junior series, where he had to hold his own against broad international competition. The transition from open-wheel racing cars to GT vehicles came later in his career as he progressively gained experience in increasingly powerful GT3 cars. This path across different categories eventually paved the way for his access to the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he fought to secure a place in the highly competitive driver field.
Among the most defining moments of his career so far is his FIA WEC debut, where he established himself as a reliable and quick driver in a very short time. Particularly his ability to deliver consistent lap times under the pressure of endurance racing has earned him recognition in the scene. Although major titles are still missing from his résumé, Andrade is regarded as one of those drivers who stand out through continuous development and tactical skill, and to whom a further rising career is expected.
For the 2026 season, Rui Andrade remains committed to endurance racing and continues to compete in the FIA WEC. In his team, he relies on established routines and works closely with his teammates to build on previous successes. His stated goal for the coming season is to further develop the consistency of recent years and position himself at the top of the championship standings.
