Richard Verschoor comes from the Netherlands, where like many of his generation he collected his first racing kilometers in karting. His talent in handling fast, lightweight vehicles showed early on, and his successes in karting paved the way for him into the European Formula junior series. There he established himself as one of the most consistent drivers of his generation and eventually attracted the interest of larger racing teams.
Verschoor worked his way systematically up through the Formula 3 and Formula 2 classes, gaining valuable experience in direct competition with the talents of his era. The next logical step led him into GT3 racing, where he proved himself with solid performances that earned him entries in prestigious endurance races. This path eventually resulted in his entry into the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he was able to establish himself as a factory driver in a hypercar program.
Among the greatest achievements of his career so far is his rise to full-time factory driver status in the FIA WEC, a milestone that only a few drivers of his generation have reached. Even in the junior series, he made a name for himself through consistent point finishes and strong individual performances, which ultimately enabled him to make the jump to the top class of endurance racing. His technical understanding and his ability to adapt to different vehicle concepts are considered his greatest strengths.
In the 2026 season, Verschoor competes again in the FIA WEC, remaining a permanent fixture in the top class of endurance racing. His focus is on building on the consistency of recent years and fighting with his team for important podium finishes and class victories in the major endurance classics.
