Isack Hadjar, born on 28 September 2004 in Paris, discovered his passion for motorsport through the animated film “Cars” and got his first go-kart at the age of seven. Coming from a family with no motorsport background (his grandparents and parents are mostly doctors and physicists), he won his very first kart race in 2012 and moved into French Formula 4 in 2019.
After stints in the Formula Regional European and Asian Championships as well as Formula 3 (2022, fourth overall), he impressed Red Bull junior programme head Helmut Marko in May 2021 with a pole-win-fastest lap weekend in Monaco and was signed to the Red Bull Junior Team. In Formula 2 in 2024 he missed the title with Campos Racing by just 22.5 points to Gabriel Bortoleto.
His 2025 Formula 1 debut for Racing Bulls began heartbreakingly: at the Australian Grand Prix he crashed out on the formation lap and left the car visibly shaken. He found consistent form afterwards and took his first podium with third place at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort, where he broke the trophy vase in the joy of celebration. He beat then team-mate Liam Lawson 51 points to 38 and was promoted to Red Bull Racing for 2026 alongside Max Verstappen.
Hadjar holds both French and Algerian citizenship, as his parents come from Algeria.
