Finn Gehrsitz was born on March 14, 1999 in Nuremberg and grew up in a family that was close to motorsport from an early age. At just seven years old, he sat in a kart for the first time, and it quickly became clear that he had found much more than just a hobby there. His early years on Franconian karting tracks shaped his driving style and awakened the ambition to make the jump into formula racing.
Through various national formula junior series, Gehrsitz worked his way up step by step. His technical understanding and consistency caught the attention of larger teams early on, and he was soon sought after by them. His move into the GT3 category marked an important turning point in his career, as it allowed him to prove himself in more competitive fields and gain valuable experience handling high-performance vehicles and changing track conditions before eventually making his way to the FIA WEC. He achieved what remains out of reach for many young drivers: in 2022, he secured multiple podium finishes within an established GT3 team in a national championship, which gave him the visibility needed for the jump to the endurance racing world championship. In 2023, he made his FIA WEC debut, where he established himself as a reliable team player in the LMGT3 class and fought for top-ten positions in several races.
