Darren Leung was born in Hong Kong and grew up with a strong connection to British motorsport, which drew him there early for his racing education. Like many of his generation, his career began in karting, where he gained his first racing experience and developed a feel for race tactics, tire management, and dealing with competitive pressure. These early years on the track formed the foundation for the path ahead, which would gradually lead him toward the international GT scene.

After karting, Leung’s career shifted toward GT3 vehicles, where he made a name for himself in various European junior and sprint series. The jump to the GT World Challenge Europe marked an important milestone, as he competed there against a deep field of professional and semi-professional drivers.
