Dries Vanthoor

Dries Vanthoor was born on May 3, 1996, in Hasselt, Belgium, and grew up in a family deeply connected to motorsport, which shaped his path into racing from an early age. Like many drivers of his generation, he began his career in karting, where he developed technical understanding and racing instinct early on, before taking the step into formula classes and later toward GT racing.

Through the junior series, Vanthoor eventually found his way into the GT3 category, where he quickly established himself as one of the most consistent forces in the international field. With Audi as his works partner, he accumulated valuable experience and success in Europe’s major GT championships, which opened the door to the great endurance classics and eventually to the FIA WEC, where he now competes in the Hypercar segment.

Vanthoor achieved his greatest career successes in the GT World Challenge Europe: three times in succession he secured the Sprint Cup title, in 2020, 2021, and 2022, proving exceptional consistency and racing speed over multiple seasons in the fiercely contested GT3 environment. This winning streak made him one of the most sought-after drivers of his generation and paved the way into the top categories of endurance racing.

In the 2026 season, Dries Vanthoor is competing again in the FIA WEC and continues to be one of the pillars of the works program, with which he has been among the top of the Hypercar field in recent years. The goal remains to build on the strong results of previous years and fight for podium finishes and overall victories in the major endurance races, while driving his team forward with experience and racing pace.
