Robin Frijns

Robin Frijns was born in the Netherlands and, like many of his generation, found his entry into motorsport through karting. His talent in handling fast vehicles became apparent early on, allowing him to quickly make the jump into Formula junior series. These years in karts laid the foundation for a career that would later take him through nearly all of Europe’s major Formula categories.

His rise through the junior series was purposeful: Frijns progressed through various Formula classes before ultimately establishing himself as a top driver in the Formule Renault 3.5 Series, the then-stepping stone to Formula 1. In parallel, he expanded his portfolio with GT3 outings and thus gained the versatility that would later predestine him to excel in a wide variety of vehicle classes. The transition toward endurance racing and sports cars, which eventually led to an engagement in the FIA WEC, was the logical continuation of this career path.

Frijns celebrated his greatest career success to date in 2012, when he secured the title in the Formule Renault 3.5 Series. This success is considered one of the most defining moments of his career to this day and confirmed his reputation as one of the most consistent drivers of his generation. The title victory opened numerous doors for him and paved the way for further engagements at the highest international level, both in Formula racing and later in GT and endurance racing.

In the 2026 season, Robin Frijns competes once again in the FIA WEC, where he will fight with his team for further strong results. His experience from numerous categories and his technical understanding make him an important factor in the battle for top positions.
