Algarve Pro Racing was founded in Portugal and ranks among the endurance teams that have consistently made the transition from national racing series to the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The team’s name directly references the southern Portuguese region of Algarve, which has given the racing team not only its identity but also a close connection to the region’s motorsport infrastructure. From the outset, the team positioned itself as one of the few Portuguese operations in the international prototype environment.

A distinguishing feature that sets Algarve Pro Racing apart from many competitors is its geographic proximity to the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao. The circuit, known for its distinctive elevation changes and the quick corner combination at the end of the start-finish straight, served the team for years as something of a home track.
