Christopher Bell was born in 1994 in the USA and grew up deeply rooted in the American dirt-track scene. Even as a teenager, he showed exceptional talent in Sprint Cars and Midgets and accumulated numerous feature wins in series such as USAC, World of Outlaws, and All Star Circuit of Champions. He secured his first national title in 2013 at age 18 with the USAC National Midget Series, including the Rookie of the Year award. These early years on loose surfaces shaped his driving style to this day and made him one of the most versatile dirt racers of his generation, which was also evident in three consecutive wins at the Chili Bowl Nationals in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Bell’s jump into NASCAR developmental series was impressive: in 2015, he won the Eldora Mudsummer Classic on dirt in just his third Truck Series start, and in 2017 he secured the Truck Series championship and Regular Season title with Kyle Busch Motorsports with five wins. He then moved to Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series, where in 2018 he set the series Rookie record with seven wins and in 2019 finished third in the overall standings with eight season wins. In total, he has 19 Xfinity wins and eight Truck wins to his credit. In 2020 he finally made his full-time Cup Series debut in the No. 95 for Leavine Family Racing.
Bell celebrated his first Cup win in February 2021 at the Daytona Roval, shortly after switching to Joe Gibbs Racing and taking over the No. 20 Toyota. In 2022 and 2023, he reached the Championship 4 finale back-to-back, in part thanks to a dramatic walk-off win at Martinsville in 2022. In 2024 he won the prestigious Coca-Cola 600, and in 2025 he achieved another highlight with a win at the NASCAR All-Star Race in North Wilkesboro. As one of only eleven drivers in NASCAR history, he also won races in all three national series at the same tracks—New Hampshire, Atlanta, and Bristol.
For the 2026 season, Christopher Bell remains a full-time driver for Joe Gibbs Racing and continues to pilot the No. 20 Toyota Camry XSE. Following the strong results of recent years, starting with Truck and Xfinity titles through Cup wins and Championship 4 appearances, the focus is clearly on his first Cup championship. With his dirt-track experience, tactical acumen in playoff situations, and the stability of one of the strongest teams in the field, Bell once again ranks among the most promising title contenders of the season.
