Tom Kalender was born on 27 March 2008 in Hamm (Sieg) and began karting in 2013 at the age of five. He won several German karting titles, including in the ADAC Kart Masters and the West German ADAC Kart Cup, before ending his karting career after seven years with the runner-up spot in the German Junior Championship.
Racing GT3 machinery for Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf, Kalender won the ADAC GT Masters title in 2024. That same year he also gained endurance experience as a Mercedes-AMG junior driver at the 24 Hours of Spa and the 24 Hours of Fuji.
In 2025 Kalender made his debut as the youngest driver in DTM history, racing for Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf. In his rookie season he gathered valuable experience at the highest level of GT3 racing and surprised with a fifth place in the season finale at Hockenheim, finishing 21st overall.
2026 marks Kalender’s second DTM season, again with Landgraf and following an intense winter of preparation. His goal is to establish himself consistently inside the top ten and close the gap to his more experienced Mercedes-AMG teammates.
