Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf was founded in 2000 by Klaus Landgraf, who raced actively himself for many years before turning his full attention to running the team. Based in Gensingen in Rhineland-Palatinate, the team competed across a wide range of motorsport series for two decades before increasingly focusing on GT3 racing during the 2010s.
Since 2018, Landgraf has campaigned the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and written its own chapter of success in the ADAC GT Masters: the team’s first win and pole position came in 2021, followed by three consecutive drivers’ titles between 2022 and 2024, first with Raffaele Marciello, then with the pairing of Elias Seppänen and Jusuf Owega, and most recently with Seppänen and Tom Kalender. This run of three straight titles made Landgraf one of the dominant forces in German GT3 sprint racing.
In 2023, the team stepped up to the DTM with Maro Engel and Jusuf Owega, finishing the season eighth in the teams’ standings. After a one-year hiatus, Landgraf returned in 2025 when HRT’s switch to Ford opened up a Mercedes seat in the series. Advisor Bernd Schneider, five-time DTM champion, has supported the team with his experience ever since.
The 2025 season became the most successful in team history: Lucas Auer led the drivers’ championship for much of the year and ultimately missed out on the title by just four points, while rookie Tom Kalender, the youngest driver on the DTM grid, impressed at the season finale in Hockenheim.
For 2026, Landgraf sticks with its proven driver pairing. Auer competes in a striking blue livery developed together with adidas and inspired by a sneaker shoebox, while Kalender’s car is painted in the red-and-white colours of new sponsor febi. Mercedes-AMG has stated its goal of finally bringing the drivers’ title back to Affalterbach after Auer’s two runner-up finishes.
