Dörr Motorsport was founded in 1999 by Rainer Dörr, whose Dörr Group is today Europe’s largest McLaren dealer. Operating out of Frankfurt, the team gathered experience across a wide range of motorsport disciplines over more than two decades, from karting to the Toyota GT86 Cup and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
The team found its true home on the Nürburgring Nordschleife: at the 24 Hours race, Dörr Motorsport took its first class win with a BMW M3, laying the foundation for seven further class victories at the endurance classic. This close bond with the Nürburgring still shapes the team’s culture today, as does its family character: Rainer Dörr’s son Ben has grown up within the team’s own ranks, from karting all the way to become a racing driver.
In 2024, the 25th anniversary year of the company, Dörr Motorsport took the biggest step in its history: entering the DTM with the McLaren 720S GT3 EVO, becoming the first team ever to bring a McLaren to the German series. A planned partnership with Project 1 to run the entry had to be taken over entirely in-house at short notice after that partner went insolvent, a hurdle the team nevertheless overcame in time for the season.
In 2025, Dörr Motorsport strengthened its line-up prominently: former Formula One driver Timo Glock made his DTM comeback alongside Ben Dörr. In this early phase, the team deliberately focused on developing both car and crew, building experience for the years ahead.
For the 2026 season, Dörr Motorsport continues with the driver pairing of Timo Glock and Ben Dörr, building on continuity with the McLaren 720S GT3 EVO as it works to establish itself among the DTM front-runners.
