Justin Allgaier

Justin Myrl Allgaier was born on June 6, 1986, in Springfield, Illinois, and grew up in nearby Riverton. His motorsports career began at age five in Quarter Midgets, where he won over one hundred races and five championships. At thirteen, he moved to the UMP Late Model Series before making his debut in the ARCA Re/Max Series at age sixteen on the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack, then driving a Chevrolet for Ken Schrader.

Over the following years, Allgaier continuously built his ARCA career, initially for his father Mike’s family-owned team. In 2006, he recorded his first ARCA victory on the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack; in 2008, he crowned himself champion of the ARCA Re/Max Series with six season wins, including the final three races in succession. The title opened the door to Team Penske, where he debuted in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2009 as Rookie of the Year. After stints with Turner Scott Motorsports, he made the jump to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2014 with HScott Motorsports, where he gained valuable experience at the highest level through 2015.

However, Allgaier’s greatest career success came back in the Xfinity Series: Since 2016, he has driven the No. 7 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports and established himself as a leader of the team. After several attempts in the Championship 4, he finally crowned himself champion of the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024 while securing JR Motorsports’ first owner championship in team history. With over 30 victories, he is the most successful driver in JR Motorsports history and also holds the record for the most top-10 finishes in Xfinity history.

Allgaier remains with JR Motorsports in 2026 and will compete as the team’s full-time driver. Already this season, he secured the Regular Season championship, just as he did in 2018, underscoring his sustained excellence at the highest level. In parallel with his Xfinity commitments, he continues to make occasional starts in the NASCAR Cup Series for JR Motorsports and Hendrick Motorsports. For the races ahead, his goal remains clear: to build on the success of his 2024 championship and lead JR Motorsports back to the Championship 4.
