Roman De Angelis

Roman De Angelis was born on March 14, 1998 in Zurich and grew up in an environment that brought him into contact with motorsport early on. At just eight years old, he sat in a kart for the first time, and what began as a pastime quickly developed into a genuine passion. Over several years competing in Swiss and later European kart championships, he gained the experience that laid the foundation for his later career.

The transition from kart tracks to formula racing came during his teenage years when De Angelis made his debut in national Formula 4 series. From there, he worked his way step by step through the European junior categories before making the switch to GT racing. The jump to the GT3 category proved to be a decisive career move, as it was there he worked with factory teams for the first time and established himself for higher-level roles. This development ultimately led him to the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he was able to establish himself as a regular driver.

Among the biggest successes of his career to date is a class victory at a major GT3 endurance race in 2021, which he achieved while racing for an international customer team. In 2023, he made the move to the FIA WEC, where he competed in the LMGT3 class for a European factory team and scored multiple podium finishes. The 2024 season in particular is considered his career highlight so far, when De Angelis drew attention with consistent results and a strong performance at one of the endurance classics.

In the 2026 season, Roman De Angelis races for an established team in the FIA WEC, where he shares the cockpit with an experienced teammate. The goal for the season is to build on the strong performances of recent years and work further up the overall standings in his class. With growing experience and solid technical understanding of the cars, De Angelis is regarded within the driver field as a reliable and ambitious pilot who wants to play an important role in international endurance racing for the long term.
