Earl Bamber

Earl Bamber was born on November 8, 1990, in Wellington, New Zealand. Like many drivers of his generation, he began his motorsport career in karting, where he demonstrated early technical aptitude and racing instinct. The path from New Zealand to the big international stage was not automatic for him, but rather the result of consistent development through junior formulae that eventually led him to Europe.

Through various formula and GT3 programs, Bamber worked his way up step by step and impressed with consistent performances for larger roles. His talent in the GT3 category opened the door to Porsche, where he initially gained experience in the brand trophy and customer teams before making the jump to formula racing and eventually the FIA World Endurance Championship. This rise made him one of the most sought-after Porsche factory drivers of his era.

The biggest successes of his career to date date back to the mid-2010s. In 2014, Bamber claimed the title in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, that prestigious brand series that has long served as a springboard for Porsche talent. Just one year later, in 2015, he crowned himself World Champion of the FIA World Endurance Championship, a success that definitively established him in the international endurance racing elite and cemented his reputation as one of Porsche’s most reliable drivers.

For the 2026 season, Earl Bamber remains part of the Porsche program in the FIA WEC, where he will once again fight for top finishes and class victories. With his experience from over a decade at the highest level, he is regarded as a stabilizing factor in the team, whose goal is to build on past successes and play a leading role in the overall standings.
