Antonio Giovinazzi

Antonio Giovinazzi was born on December 14, 1993, in Martina Franca, Italy. Like many Italian racing drivers, he began his motorsport career in karting, where he developed technical aptitude and racing instinct early on. These first years on the kart track laid the foundation for a career that would take him through the classic junior formula series to the highest ranks of international motorsport.

After karting, Giovinazzi went through the typical stages of junior formula racing and proved himself ready for bigger challenges. His talent did not go unnoticed and eventually brought him to Formula 1, where he gained experience at the highest level as a reserve and later as a regular driver. After his departure from Formula 1, he shifted the focus of his career to GT3 and endurance racing, an environment in which he quickly became one of the most sought-after drivers and made the jump to the FIA WEC.

Giovinazzi’s greatest career success to date comes from 2025: In the FIA World Endurance Championship, he secured the drivers’ world championship title. This success marks the high point of his career so far and underscores his development from a Formula talent to one of the strongest long-distance drivers of his generation. The 2025 WEC title is thus the central milestone by which his entire sporting career is measured.

In the 2026 season, Antonio Giovinazzi enters as the reigning FIA WEC World Champion and thus goes into the new season as one of the favorites. Following his title win the previous year, the focus is clearly on title defense, with him able to draw on his team’s proven structures and the experience gained in the previous year. The coming season will show whether he can confirm his success and establish himself as a mainstay at the top of the long-distance world championship.
