Marius Fossard grew up in a small town near Lyon, where his father ran a kart workshop and introduced him to motorsports as a child. At just seven years old, he sat in a kart for the first time, and the fascination never let go. The family spent weekends at regional karting tracks, where Fossard quickly developed technical understanding and racing instinct long before competing in national championships.
Fossard’s path through the junior categories was classic but consistent: after several years in karting, he moved into the French Formula 4 scene and gained his first experience in formula racing. Via the Formula Renault Eurocup, he eventually found his way into the GT3 world, where he established himself as a gentleman driver and later as a works driver in various customer teams. This transition from formula racing to the GT category paved the way for him into the endurance racing scene and ultimately to the FIA WEC.
Among his greatest career achievements to date is his class victory in the LMGTE Am at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2022, which he secured with a private customer team. A year later, in 2023, he also claimed the vice championship title in the FIA WEC standings of his class, a result that solidified his reputation as a consistent and reliable endurance driver. These successes brought him increasing attention from larger teams and opened the door to more prestigious engagements.
In the 2026 season, Marius Fossard is competing for an established team in the FIA WEC, where he and his teammate have set their sights on fighting for top positions in the overall class standings. Following his successes in recent years, he views the new season as another step in his development as an endurance driver and hopes to build on the strong form of 2022 and 2023 with consistent results.
