Motorsport Arena Oschersleben is one of the most traditional racing circuits in East Germany and has developed into a fixture on the European motorsport calendar since its founding. Located in the Börde district, the facility is situated approximately 30 kilometers from Magdeburg and has consistently offered a stage for national and international racing series with its compact yet demanding track layout. The post-reunification period brought numerous infrastructure projects to this region, and the racing circuit in Oschersleben was one of the most significant, as it gave sporting identity to an economically disadvantaged area.

Over the years, the circuit changed ownership and operators multiple times, which also led to a name change: the original facility became today’s Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Under new ownership, the first major modernization measures began in 2007, which elevated the circuit to a new technical and infrastructural level. These investments secured the arena’s long-term place in the racing calendar and made it possible to attract demanding series such as the DTM on a permanent basis.

Motorsport Arena Oschersleben today presents itself as a 3.696-kilometer-long circuit with a width of 11 to 13 meters and elevation changes of up to 23 meters, which gives it a surprisingly dynamic character despite its compact dimensions. Depending on the racing discipline, different layout variants are used, including a GP version with 15 corners on approximately 4.85 kilometers as well as a shorter GT variant with 13 corners on about 4.5 kilometers. This versatility makes the circuit a genuine challenge for drivers and teams, as rapid transitions between braking zones and tight corner combinations require precise setup fine-tuning.

Over the years, Oschersleben has established itself as the setting for thrilling battles in various touring car and GT series. In particular, the DTM regularly uses the circuit as a season opener or early championship date, as recently demonstrated by test sessions and race appearances of prominent teams, including Manthey with the Porsche 911 GT3 R as well as Haupt Racing Team with its Mercedes-AMG GT3 vehicles. The ADAC GT Masters has also made multiple stops at Oschersleben, such as with teams like Callaway Competition, which achieved good results there.

For the 2026 season, Motorsport Arena Oschersleben remains a central date in the DTM calendar and promises exciting racing once again given the tight circuit characteristics and the multitude of technical sections. The combination of short distance, variable layouts, and the circuit’s long tradition ensures that both drivers and fans look forward with anticipation to the next edition.
